Terms
A plain account of the rates, the index, and a request. This is boilerplate for the desk, not a substitute for counsel on a trade.
What this is
barrels.trade publishes prices for collectible bourbon barrels, in dollars per barrel, and a Bourbon Barrel Index by age. Covington runs the desk behind the login. The public pages are a reference. They are not a venue and not an invitation to buy or sell a barrel.
Indicative prices
The public tape shows a December mark for a year, then the best bid and the best offer on the desk. The mark is a reference from 31 December 2025. The bid and the offer are indications.
A price someone confirms is on the book for 25 hours, in dollars per barrel. People signed in to the desk can see it. If it is left alone, it closes after 25 hours. Confirming it again, including as unchanged, starts another 25 hours. An indication is not an offer, not an acceptance, and not a commitment to deal.
Requests
Anyone may ask to buy or sell a number of barrels of a year. The request is shown on the desk with the sender’s name and email. Sending one does not create an order, a contract, or an obligation to answer.
The Barrel Index
The Bourbon Barrel Index is a curve of dollars per barrel by age, from a fresh fill through eight years. The page shows the 30 June 2026 mark. The curve is re-marked twice a year. It is a reference price. It is not a settlement price and not advice.
The index is a calculation we publish so a reader can see how the number was made. It is not a benchmark for settlement, not a futures contract, and not a promise that the level will be maintained, revised, or used by anyone else.
Accounts
Desk access is by invite. You sign in with the email on the invite and a password you choose. You are responsible for that password. We may disable an account. A price you confirm is visible to other people on the desk.
No advice
Nothing on barrels.trade is investment, tax, or legal advice. Barrel markets are thin. A rate can be stale. Do your own work before you deal, and deal with a principal you have chosen, on terms you have read.
Liability
The rates, the index, and the desk are provided as published. We do not warrant that a price is complete, current, or free of error. To the extent the law allows, barrels.trade and Covington are not liable for decisions made from these pages, or for a request that goes unanswered.
These terms
These terms were published on 23 September 2026. They cover the public pages and the desk login. If you use the site, you are using it on these terms. Questions go through the request form. We will say if a later version replaces this one.
